The kitchen

The kitchen, installed in 1967, is a suspended Aquila Bruynzeel kitchen, designed by the Dutch designer Kho Liang Ie and manufactured by Bruynzeel. In the Netherlands in the 1960s, this iconic kitchen is a masterpiece of mid-century Dutch design. The fronts are finished in oiled brown wood with light gray laminate doors and metal handles. Its wall-mounting system was innovative for its time, freeing up floor space and setting the standard for modern modular kitchens.

The appliances are not from that era… 😊: conventional oven, microwave oven, ceramic hob, extractor hood, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.

In terms of small household appliances: percolator, kettle, toaster, citrus press, Nespresso machine, blender.

The kitchen sink is of course connected to the mains water supply.

A laundry sink is connected to rainwater (not potable!) for maintenance, cleaning shoes or other non-cooking equipment.

A vacuum cleaner is available for your use, as well as cleaning equipment, if needed.

A portable clothes dryer allows you to dry your laundry outside when the weather permits. You also have a small wall-mounted clothes dryer in the kitchen.

It is possible to have breakfast in the kitchen at the old oak table.
